SMA6J and SMA6J-Q Series – New Discrete TVS Diode Products

Bourns has released two new ESD/EFT/Surge Protection series, Models SMA6J and SMA6J-Q. These products are well suited for voltage transient and ESD protection in data lines and DC power supplies. Both series come in a compact, industry standard DO214-AC (SMA) package, with increased Peak Pulse Power Dissipation of 600 W rather than the industry standard of just 400 W, enabling designers to realize compact, high power density and power supply designs.

15KPA-SD-Q Series : New AEC-Q101 Compliant Discrete TVS Diode Products

This series of Transient Voltage Suppressor Diodes were designed for use in DC bus clamping applications and for the protection of sensitive electronics components against overvoltage transients.

The Model 15KPA-SD-Q series offers superior performance with its high peak pulse power (10/1000 μs) rating of 15 kW and high peak pulse current (8/20 μs) rating of 1 kA. It also achieves lower clamping voltage under surge, better performance stability and increased reliability compared to competing MOV technology.

The Model 15KPA-SD-Q series comes in a surface mount DO-218AB package that is an optimal choice for automated pick and place assembly and reflow processes, simplifying PCB assembly and reducing production costs when compared to traditional through-hole packages functionally similar to the series.

Furthermore, the Model 15KPA-SD-Q series is AEC-Q101 compliant and well suited for applications that require high reliability such as power supplies and equipment used in certain harsh environments.
