Sealed IP68 enclosures

Sealed IP68 enclosures

Sealed IP68 enclosures

The 1551W series of enclosures from Hammond Manufacturing is an IP68 sealed version of its popular 1551 miniature enclosure family. Available in five sizes, and all available with a plain or flanged lid, the UL94-V0 polycarbonate enclosures are suitable for use indoors or outdoors. They are available in black or grey, with a soft texture finish.

All enclosures are fitted with PCB stand-offs in the base, and the preformed silicone sealing gasket provides excellent protection against the ingress of dust or water, providing a watertight seal to protect the housed electronics.

The five sizes range from 60 x 35 x 22 mm to 100 x 59 x 25 mm. The flanged lid versions make mounting to any surface a simple and easy process, and provide a degree of tamper resistance by preventing access to the lid and base securing screws.

The rectangular and round vented 1551V versions are designed to house sensors and small sub-systems installed in the manufacturing environment. One of the key features is the snap-fit closure that allows repeated opening and closing without tools, thereby maximising the internal space for PCBs by eliminating screw fixings to secure the cover to the base. They feature ventilation slots on all four vertical faces of the cover, wall mounting slots, and a 15 mm cable knock-out in the base. All rectangular and round versions are also available in an unvented style in all housing sizes.

Latest high-impedance common mode filters

Latest high-impedance common mode filters

TDK Corporation has announced the introduction of its new KCZ1210DH800HRTD25 common mode filter for deployment in ultra-high-speed automotive interfaces.

This product is an addition to the KCZ1210DH Series that was released in February 2022. It enables substantial enhancements in noise control functions compared to conventional filters, with an impedance of 1000 Ω at 1 GHz and insertion loss of more than 25 dB. Due to the recent spread of advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) implementation, the speed of signal processing has ramped up significantly. Through this, the move to safer and more secure autonomous driving will be achieved. The new TDK filter contributes to preventing errors in high-speed signal processing in relation to front sensing cameras, mmWave radar, and LiDAR.

Through TDK’s proprietary internal electrode pattern arrangement, plus the integrated and sintered configuration of optimal low dielectric materials, this product achieves superior properties, alongside long-term reliability. Furthermore, by adding a conductive resin-based layer to the terminal electrodes, the risk of cracks appearing (due to thermal shocks) is reduced, and durability to mechanical stresses is increased.

The automotive-grade KCZ1210DH800HRTD25 common mode filter is extremely compact at 1,25 x 1,0 x 0,5 mm. It supports an operating temperature range of -55 to 125℃.

TDK named a Derwent Top 100 Global Innovator 2020

Digital and energy transformation leader TDK named a Derwent Top 100 Global Innovator 2020

TDK Corporation announced that it has been selected as one of the Derwent 2020 Top 100 Global Innovators by Clarivate Analytics. The news marks the sixth time TDK has been named to the prestigious list, at a time where the company continues to grow and push innovation within digital transformation (DX) and energy transformation (EX).

To determine the list, Clarivate Analytics evaluated companies based on four primary criteria: overall patent volume (i.e., a minimum of 100 patents must have been granted over the most recent five-year period), a successful patent-application-to-grant ratio, global patent protection of the portfolio, especially by Chinese, European, Japanese and U.S. patent offices, and the number of citations by other organizations as evidence of patent influence.

Since its inception in 1935, TDK has dedicated itself to continually inventing superior materials, production technologies, and optimal processing techniques. TDK’s comprehensive product portfolio spans passive components such as capacitors, inductors and piezo and protection devices, as well as customized products including sensors, and energy devices. The company’s electronic solutions are used in a broad spectrum of applications including automotive and industrial electronics, as well as in communications technology and solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT).
