Industrial Enclosure Selection “White Paper”
As well as the traditional electrical junction boxes and distribution cabinets found throughout the factory environment, the increased use of distributed electronic control and monitoring equipment in advanced manufacturing facilities means that more systems and sub-systems are now to be found in close proximity to the plant and equipment being controlled.
For designers of such systems, this can bring new challenges when specifying the enclosure. If you are in that position, don’t worry, Hammond have your back! As a long-established designer and manufacturer of industrial enclosures, they know the questions to ask. Hammond have put together a white paper that sets out the different things you need to consider when selecting the housing for your system
Main considerations
- Size, temperature extremes and humidity
- Materials
- Aggressive atmospheres: acidic, alkaline and solvents
- Environmental sealing: IP Ratings
- Fixings and closures
- Manufacturer’s technical support
